We want you, your family and friends to have a safe and fun experience with 4-Alarm Fireworks. Please make sure to take the following safety precautions while enjoying your fireworks.

Never let children handle, play with or light fireworks. Adults should always be present to light and handle the fireworks.

Do not consume drugs or alcohol when handling or lighting your fireworks. Any impairment increases the possibility injury.

Be sure to follow any and all local and state laws regarding the possession and use of fireworks. Please use common sense! Read all directions, cautions, labels and warnings on the fireworks to better understand the products performance and any hazards associated with its use.

Make sure to purchase your fireworks from a reliable, licensed dealer. 4-Alarm Fireworks will only carry products that meet the standards set and enforced by the U.S. Consumer Product Commission and that have been fully tested for compliance. Do not alter any fireworks device and do not attempt to make your own fireworks.

Always use fireworks on a hard, flat and level surface to insure stability, especially when using taller items. To insure the stability of an item, lay down a strong piece of plywood and place bricks on either side to avoid the potential of an item tipping over.  You can also bury your items half the height in the ground or place in a bucket or pail filled with dirt or sand. This will help stabilize the item.

Keep your audience a safe distance away from the shooting site. Be sure to light the fireworks in a clear, open area away from any buildings, vehicles or overhead obstructions. We recommend a minimum clear distance of 35 feet for ground-based fireworks and 150 feet for aerial fireworks. Make sure to avoid lighting your fireworks near any dry grass or dry brush. Always use fireworks outdoors and never shoot fireworks in a metal or glass container.

Never put any part of your body over the top of a firework. Do not look into a tube and never hold a lighted firework in your hand. Keep as far away from a firework as possible when lighting it, and get as far away as quickly as possible after a firework has been ignited.

Always light fireworks products with an extended butane lighting device or a punk. Light the fuse only on the tip and position yourself as far from the product as possible. Light the firework, get away quickly and light only one firework item at a time.

Never attempt to relight or fix any malfunctioning or “dud” firework. If a fireworks item fails to function when ignited, let it stand for at least 5 minutes, then douse it with water. Make sure to dispose of the item properly.

Make sure to have a fire extinguisher, water supply, hose or bucket of water nearby for emergencies. There should always be one individual assigned as the fireman, whose sole job it is to be at the ready, especially during dry conditions or when there is dried grass or brush in close proximity to the shooting site. Watch the trajectories of the fireworks and be alert with a water source ready for any emergencies.

Be cautious when lighting any fireworks during windy conditions. Light fireworks with the wind blowing away from any spectators. Rearrange your shooting site to accommodate a wind shift or stop the shooting until the wind dies down.

Use care in handling fireworks. Be careful not to drop them and never carry fireworks in your pocket. Never smoke when you are handling fireworks. Keep fireworks in a closed container before and when not in use.

Keep fireworks that are not being used away from your launch zone. Sparks can ignite idle fireworks and cause injury.  Make sure to cover unused fireworks or put them in a sealed container to prevent sparks from active fireworks inadvertently igniting the idle ones.

Never use fireworks as weapons. Never aim, point or throw fireworks at another person.

Use fireworks outdoors under safe conditions. Never use fireworks indoors.

Safety glasses are recommended for individuals lighting fireworks and individuals who are in close proximity to the fireworks.

Never use a wet or damaged shell or launch tube. Be sure to insert the shell all the way into the bottom of the tube with the flat end down and the arrow pointing up. Do not force a shell into a tube and be sure to use only one shell in a tube at a time. Wait at least 30 seconds after ignition before loading another shell into the launch tube. Never ignite a shell outside of a launch tube and never take the shell apart. Do not relight a fuse that fails. After lighting the fuse, move a minimum of 20 feet away from the launch tube.

The noise and lights from fireworks often frighten pets. Please be considerate of your pets when using fireworks.

Do not transport fireworks on airplanes. It is a violation of federal aviation law to transport any fireworks device or novelty on an airplane.

Disposing of all fireworks is considered hazardous if not done properly. Please make sure to soak all used and unused fireworks in water overnight before placing them into the outside trash can. Never place any fireworks into your trash cans inside of your home.
